Ties² is a joint venture between Midwest Companies and Omaha Track. Our grinding facility located in Superior, Wisconsin processes scrap railroad ties into chip for cogeneration fuel. We have the ability to process up to four million railroad ties per year. Ties² is the nations premier company for the strategic product collection, destruction, and disposal for our nation’s railroad ties to cogeneration power plants. Ties² and Midwest companies partners with dozens of railroad to help with crosstie management, including BNSF Railroad, Union Pacific Railroad, and Western Railway.

The company provides point of service removal of discarded cross ties for the nation’s railroads with environmentally consistent disposal of materials at co-generation incineration plants located strategically throughout the extended Midwest. The company has a large-scale tie grinding operation in Superior, Wisconsin as well as a mobile grinding service that can operate anywhere in North America.
